147-Torpedo

Visited the Torpedo factory in Old Town Alexandria today with Mike and Kelly.  It is an old factory that has since been converted to art space and galleries.  The place is also decorated with old munitions from the factory.  Canon 50D.

146-Down the Tracks

Heading back to DC from Hampton roads via Amtrak again.  I love shooting out the windows of trains, they always give you a new perspective.  Canon 50D, 1/500th sec @ f/5.6, ISO 400.

Looking out the third story window over the harbor in the Ghent part of Norfolk, VA.  A beautiful house, cared for by my roomate's father's cousin.  iPhone.

144-My Grandparents

My grandmother's birthday today, as well as my dad's.  So I took the train down sunday to see my grandparents and surprise my dad for his 60th. Canon 50D.

Salvatore Ferro's rock sculpture in front of the house.  The rocks are stacked and not secured to each other, making this a rather remarkable feature.  iPhone.

139-Yellow Tang

The Yellow Tang in my friend Cliff's salt water tank.  I've always found salt water aquariums to be much more interesting than their freshwater counterparts.  Much more vibrant, but a lot more effort.  I can't keep regular fish alive much less tropical ones.  Canon 50D, 1/400th sec @ f/5.6, ISO 1000.

138-Aged

My friend Cliff has a box of old alcohol that he never drinks, this sad bottle of Canadian Club Whisky still has the old tax seal from 1980, and judging by the collection of dust, is probably pretty authentic.  Canon 50D, 1/60th sec @ f/5.6, ISO 1000.

137-Stuck in the Mud

Evidently I have a thing for shopping carts out of place.  This one was far more interesting than the one that's been popping around my neighborhood for the last month.  This one was much trickier to get to.

136-Severed

Found a severed tail in the woods along a trail.  I thought it was interesting, and I was curious where the rest of the squirrel went.  Canon 50D, 1/60th sec @ f/5.6, ISO 1000

135-Series of Tubes

The internet is not a big truck, it's a series of tubes, in this case, fiber optic tubes.  In theater, we use the principals behind the fiber optic strands to create lighting effects like star curtains.  Canon 50D, 1/60th sec @ f/5.6, ISO 500.

131-Wrap Your Feet Around It

The New Hope & Ivyland Railroad excursions in Eastern PA runs on the weekends and twice a month hosts a dinner and a wine event.  The regular train runs a diesel locomotive, but the dinner train is one of the few that runs steam.  iPhone.

The sunset out over western NJ was really something spectacular today, riding down the road in the passenger seat made getting the shot a little difficult, but still, it was pretty.  Canon 50D 1/160th sec @ f/8, ISO 800.

126-Noritake Shelburne

Noritake pattern 5316: Shelburne.  Part of my Grandmother's wedding china that is currently in my possession.  Out of all the Noritake patterns that I've been exposed to this is one of my favorites, so I'm very glad it was passed along to me.  Canon 50D, 1/100th sec @ f/20, ISO 100, Flash.
