90-Guinea Pig

89-Full Moon

The full moon from the early hours of this morning.  Taken from Yorktown out away from the city lights and cloud cover gave this fantastic view of it.  Canon 50D, 1/250th sec @ f/3.8, ISO 1000.

88-Rock and Roll

When tours come through your venue they don't know who works there/ allowed back stage and who isn't, so they give out crew badges which generally have the date, the tour, and any other pertinent crew information.  My old boss gathered his and framed them up. iPhone.

87-Clockwork

It's like clockwork, because it is clockwork.  These are the insides of my mantle clock which was at one point part of my Great grandfather's clock collection.  Canon 50D, 1/80th sec @ f/5.6, ISO 800, Flash.

86-Adding Machine

The keys from my 1930's era Dalton Adding Machine.  Because the device is completely mechanical the adding and subtracting keys are different and noted by the black and red numbers on each key.  Canon 50D, 1/80th sec @ f/11, ISO 100, flash.

85-NEC Tag

I love good graffiti, and the North East Corridor train route does not disappoint.  Because trains almost always travel through the industrial zones, most flat surfaces are covered in tags.  This is one of the many examples of fantastic tagging along my train route.  Canon 50D, 1/400th sec @ f/7.1, ISO 1000.

84-Spin Me Round

Another macro shot this time of my record player.  I've discovered a lot of music that's unavailable on CD or MP3 while shopping at used vinyl stores.  I'm intrigued that you can still find new music being pressed and even more intrigued that some new records come with a code to download the digital copy.  Canon 50D, 1/60th sec @ f/8, ISO 100, Flash.

83-Are You My Mommy?

There's a Pathmart about a mile and a half from my house, which is a bit far for this little guy to have traveled on his own.  What's cute is his captors parked him right next to this little blue utility flag and they match.  Canon 50D, 1/125th sec @ f/5.6, ISO 200.

82-Shrouded Empire

It's been raining the past few days and this morning I found the Empire State Building somewhat hidden in the low cloud cover.  This was a view from Jersey just prior to entering the Holland Tunnel.

81-Flash Storm

Due to poor draining when it rains, water just pours off the roof of the porch.  I thought it'd be interesting to try using the camera flash to catch the rain as it fell in the dark.  Canon 50D 1/50th sec @ f/5.6, ISO 2000, Flash.

80-Who Needs a Gallery?

This man decided to display his artwork on the side of a building on Bleeker St. in the West Village.  Funny thing is this street corner with out a doubt gets him more exposure than any gallery in New York City.  Canon 50D, 1/200th sec @ f/8, ISO 800.

79-Break the Wall

Two of our friends were visiting us from out of town giving us enough people to play Mah Jongg.  We stumbled through the first game but the second went very well.  This photo is of the North wall before it broke.  Canon 50D, 1/60th sec @ f/11, ISO 500, Flash.

78-Secaucus Sun Set

Commuting home from NYC before the sun went down for the first time in 4 months.  I started snapping photos out the window as we came out from under the palisades and caught all the amber hues in the sky as the sun set.   The train track toward Hoboken can be seen in the distance.

77-Breaking Through

Another beautiful 70 degree day in Highland park and the first spring flowers are stating to show.  These are growing on the median about a block from my house.  Canon 50D 1/1600th sec @ f/3.8, ISO 400.

Lucky's Famous Burgers on W 52nd St. btw 8th and 9th ave.  I've never stopped in but this sign always makes me chuckle. iPhone.

74-Experiments in Light 1

Strapping theatrical color media on to the front of my studio flashes I experimented with what sort of effects I could get.  I would love to do this process again with a person at some point, now that I know it works with my equiptment.  Canon 50D, 1/60th sec @ f/9, ISO 200, Flash, Color.

73-I'm Hiding

My neighbor's car decided it was going to hide under this tree.  I think it did a pretty good job.  My neighbor was not so excited.  iPhone.

72-Gradient

The rain on my storm window presented this gradient in both the clouds and the droplets on the window itself.  it creates a rather neat effect.  Canon 50D, 1/250th sec @ f/5.6, ISO 800.

71-Absolute Control

The four remote controls for the A/V system in my living room, sometimes I can find all of them, sometimes I can't.  Another opportunity to pull out the studio flashes.  Canon 50D, 1/60th sec @ f/20, ISO 800, Flash.

70-Evening Fog

Out the back of my roommate's car at the evening headlights through the fog.  This attempt wasn't that great but something to work on.  Canon 50D, 1/100th sec @ f/3.8, ISO 1000.

69-The Bride To Be

This is a Sapphire set in a platinum replica antique engagement ring.  The elegant simplicity of the setting and color of the stone was absolutely stunning, and thus today's photo.  Canon 50D, 1/60th sec @ f/11, ISO 400, Vivitar Macro lens, Flash.

68-Quack

Curious ducks in central park want food more than anything and will get suspiciously close to get it.  We didn't have any to give though, so they moved on.  iPhone.

67-Home Sweet Home

I'm hoping to do some landscaping in the front yard so I decided that today's photo should be a 'before' photo if I do end up doing something to improve the look of my little front yard.  Canon 50D, 1/160th sec @ f/8, ISO 200.

66-Just a Couple of Bastards

Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale went well with chicken fajitas for dinner.  My studio flashes came in so I thought I'd play around with a still life.  Canon 50D, 1/60th sec @ f/6.1, ISO 200, Flash.

65-Stay on Track

Stopping in Richmond for a moment allowed me to step off the train and snap this photo of the wheel carriage in the setting sun.  There is a lot going on under there but just so long as they stay on the track I'm happy.  Canon 50D, 1/80th sec @ f/7.1, ISO 800.

64-Waiting

Towards the end of the runway at Kenly Airport is a Farmall 140 tractor that has sat out all winter waiting for the season to begin, out by itself it breaks up the landscape just enough to draw my interest. iPhone

63-Seeing Stars

62-Flying Through the Country

Taken out the window of my Amtrak train while going 80 mph through Wilson NC. At a slow shutter speed the photo took on a more painterly feel. Canon 50D, 1/80th sec @ f/11, ISO 800.

61-Receptors

A yellow rubber ball with all the little fingers is a fun thing to play with but roll it across the floor and those fingers turn into receptors and pick up everything!  This was a stylized shot from underneath using my vivitar macro lens.  Canon 50D, 1/100th sec @ f/5.6, ISO 800.

60-Drying Glass

Watching the sun hit the drying glasses inspired this photo.  The sun always comes through the kitchen window and hits the glasses that are drying, unfortunately, this is the first time in a few weeks i've caught the moment due to all the snow the Mid-atlantic has received.  Canon 50D, 1/400th sec @ f/5.6, ISO 200.
